Responsible for protecting human and animal welfare, this high-profile organisation needs to continually respond to changing policy demands in the food system. The executive team came to us keen to cohere around a clear vision, agree ambitious goals and organise to deliver them. To future-proof their organisational model in the face of turmoil in markets, consumer behaviour and climate change.
Combining top team coaching with a facilitated process of Adaptive Organisation Design, the project commenced in person just before lockdown, then transferred to fully virtual for a lengthy period. With executive attention diverted to responding to the health emergency, Talik’s role shifted to facilitating sense-making alongside team coaching as fast decisions were made in a dynamic environment.
In parallel, insights from inquiry and observations as the organisation responded to the unfolding emergency, were integrated into a revised design process. Through dialogic sessions we produced robust Design Criteria against which alternative structural models were tested and refined.
The final design integrated clear structure and process, supported by solid governance, to give the executive the template for managing further operational and cultural change.
